Horses as Muses is an open barn gathering hosted by Mylissa Davis, Saxon Alexandra, and Silvy Zhou, that aims to explore the intersection of horsemanship, art, movement, anatomy, observation, and creative practice.

This event was created with both horse people and artists in mind, especially those who feel curious about the spaces where those worlds overlap. Maybe you see horsemanship as an art form. Maybe you’re an artist inspired by movement, nature, or relationship. Maybe you just want to spend a thoughtful day around horses and other deeply inquisitive humans.

During our time together, we’ll explore:

   • equine anatomy and movement (featuring live horses and equine bone specimens)

   • guided artistic studies and demonstrations

   • open-air observation and artmaking

   • immersive discussion and collaborative learning

Art materials will be available, though we encourage you to bring any supplies you prefer, and no prior artistic experience is required. We want this unique event to feel approachable, exploratory, and welcoming to anyone with a curious mind and an open heart.

We’ll take a one-hour break midday for lunch, and participants are encouraged to bring their own meal and enjoy some time to rest, connect, and take in the beauty of Mylissa’s farm.
